Don "Zipper" W - '71 Convertible
I purchased my 1971 Chevelle for $3,500 from a very close
friend 20 years ago.  I and a few others had their hands in
the two year build.

We rebuilt the 400 engine into a 406 CID.  It dyno’s out at
366 horse power and 430 torque, and this was prior to the
installation of a Flowmaster 2 ½ inch exhaust and headers.

It’s running a 350 turbo transmission, and a 16 inch pusher
fan to keep things cool. We added power steering to go
along with the new tilt steering column and a Lecarra
steering wheel.

New floor sheetmetal was needed, then the complete interior
upholstery job was done – including the trunk. The interior
features a custom center console, and the trunk uses
fluorescent lighting.

All sheet metal replaced, quarters, hood, front fenders, and
doors. Grand Prix door handles along with custom side
mirrors were added.  The only thing kept due to condition
was the trunk lid, everything else is new.

The following were all added or replaced:  windshield, front
disc brakes, gas tank, CD\radio, Haartz convertible top with
glass window, weather stripping, cowl induction hood,
graphics, and 18 inch Foose wheels.

When everyone did their magic the job was complete and I
was very satisfied.
